Alabama Basketball Player Arrested for 'Excessive Enthusiasm,' Charged with 'Aggravated School Spirit'

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Alabama Crimson Tide star Aden Holloway was removed from the basketball team Tuesday after being arrested on charges of 'Excessive Enthusiasm in the First Degree' and 'Aggravated School Spirit with Intent to Motivate Others.'
According to the police report, Holloway was apprehended at a local Chuck E. Cheese after witnesses reported he had been loudly chanting 'Roll Tide' while a 6-year-old blew out birthday candles, then proceeded to treat the arcade basketball game as if it were 'March Madness itself.'
'He kept yelling about bracket busters and Cinderella stories,' said Chuck E. Cheese manager Karen Dipsworth. 'When little Timmy missed a skee-ball shot, Mr. Holloway started giving him a full-court press demonstration using pizza slices as visual aids.'
The situation escalated when Holloway allegedly began treating the ball pit as a 'pre-game warm-up facility' and started coaching other children on proper rebounding technique. Police were called after he refused to stop explaining the difference between man-to-man and zone defense to a toddler who was just trying to eat pizza.
'I've never seen someone get that fired up about children's arcade games,' said arresting officer Deputy Mike Johnson. 'He kept insisting that every shot was a 'clutch three-pointer' and started doing victory laps around the animatronic band.'
Alabama head coach Nate Oats released a statement saying the team has a 'zero tolerance policy for uncontrolled March Madness fever before March even begins.' The university's athletic department has reportedly enrolled all remaining players in a mandatory 'Appropriate Enthusiasm Management' course.
Holloway is being held on $10,000 bail and faces up to six months in prison, though legal experts say he'll likely receive community service coaching youth basketball, which his lawyer argues would be 'cruel and unusual punishment for the children involved.'
