Local Child Goes Missing From Social Media for 3 Hours, Entire Town Declares Him Dead

BAYAMO, CUBA - The small town of Bayamo was thrown into absolute chaos this Monday when local 8-year-old Miguel Fernández failed to post his daily TikTok dance routine, prompting residents to immediately declare him deceased on social media.
The boy, who typically uploads 47 videos per day featuring various dance trends and unboxing videos of imaginary toys, had gone radio silent for nearly three hours before concerned neighbors began posting memorial tributes on Facebook.
"We knew something was terribly wrong when his Instagram story didn't update every 15 minutes like clockwork," said neighbor Carmen Rodriguez, wiping away tears with a phone charger. "His Snapchat score hadn't moved in 2 hours and 37 minutes. In today's world, that's basically a death certificate."
Local authorities report they never actually investigated the disappearance, instead relying entirely on the community's social media detective work, which consisted mainly of sharing blurry photos and creating conspiracy theories in WhatsApp groups.
"Why waste resources on actual police work when we have 847 amateur investigators posting minute-by-minute updates with crying face emojis?" explained Police Chief Roberto Santos while scrolling through TikTok. "The people have spoken through their posts, and that's good enough for us."
Miguel was eventually found three hours later, alive and well, after his phone battery died while he was napping. Upon hearing the news of his supposed demise, the boy immediately went live on Instagram to perform an interpretive dance about resurrection, garnering 2.3 million views and somehow monetizing his own fake death.
The town has since established a new protocol requiring all children to post proof-of-life content every 30 minutes or be declared officially deceased by community consensus.
