Local Man's Heart Officially Files Restraining Order Against Snow Shovel

MILWAUKEE, WI - In an unprecedented legal move, the heart of 52-year-old Dale Mackerson has officially filed a restraining order against his snow shovel, claiming years of emotional and physical abuse every time temperatures drop below freezing.

'My client has endured decades of sudden, violent encounters with this particular piece of winter equipment,' said attorney Jennifer Walsh, who specializes in organ law. 'Every November, Mr. Mackerson's heart lives in constant fear, knowing that at any moment it could be subjected to the traumatic experience of moving heavy, wet snow at 6 AM while wearing inadequate footwear.'

The restraining order, filed in Milwaukee County Court, details a pattern of abuse dating back to 1987, when Mackerson first purchased the defendant shovel from a local hardware store. The heart alleges that it has been forced to pump at 'unreasonable and dangerous speeds' while Mackerson attempts to clear his 40-foot driveway in subzero temperatures.

'The breaking point came last Tuesday,' Walsh explained, 'when my client was subjected to what can only be described as shovel-related torture after a 12-inch snowfall. The heart was working overtime, begging Mr. Mackerson to take breaks, but he was too concerned about getting to his book club meeting on time.'

The shovel, represented by public defender Mike Thompson, maintains its innocence. 'My client is simply a tool designed to move snow,' Thompson argued. 'If Mr. Mackerson chooses to wield it in an aggressive, cardiovascularly threatening manner, that's not my client's fault. The shovel has never once forced itself into Mr. Mackerson's hands.'

Local cardiologist Dr. Susan Chen testified that heart-versus-shovel disputes spike dramatically between December and March. 'We see this every year,' she said. 'Hearts across the Midwest are crying out for protection from their owners' stubborn refusal to hire neighborhood teenagers or invest in a decent snow blower.'

The court has ordered Mackerson to maintain a minimum 50-foot distance from the shovel and to hire a professional snow removal service. Mackerson's other organs have reportedly started a GoFundMe to cover the legal fees, with his lower back contributing the largest donation.
