Local Man's LinkedIn Post About 'Hustle Culture' Accidentally Summons Actual Demon Who Is Now His Business Coach

COLUMBUS, OH — Local entrepreneur and self-described 'visionary disruptor' Derek Flinch, 34, confirmed Tuesday that the ancient hell-demon currently living in his spare bedroom has completely transformed his dropshipping business after being accidentally summoned through an unusually aggressive series of LinkedIn posts about waking up at 4 AM.

'I was just sharing my journey,' said Flinch, gesturing toward his home office where a seven-foot creature made entirely of shadow and ambition was updating a spreadsheet. 'I wrote 'Rise and grind, no days off, sleep is just death's free trial' and then there was this smell of sulfur, and suddenly Gorthax was just... there. Standing in my kitchen. Asking to see my profit margins.'

Gorthax, who previously spent 4,000 years collecting mortal souls in exchange for earthly power, told reporters he found the transition to business consulting surprisingly seamless.

'Honestly, it's the same job,' said the demon, whose voice sounds like a conference call that has gone on three hours too long. 'Before, I would offer humans unlimited wealth in exchange for their eternal soul. Now I charge $299 a month for my online course. The conversion rate is significantly better with the course.'

According to LinkedIn analysts, the summoning was triggered by Flinch's unprecedented streak of motivational content, which included the phrases 'Your excuses are just dreams that gave up on themselves,' 'I don't have a boss, I AM the boss (of my own independent contractor arrangement),' and the post that apparently sealed the portal open: 'If you're reading this at 6 AM, we're already the same person.'

'We've been tracking this kind of content for years,' said Dr. Patricia Holloway, a professor of Infernal Digital Marketing at Ohio State University. 'Every time someone posts a photo of their Stanley cup next to a laptop at sunrise with the caption 'Building empires,' the barrier between our world and the underworld thins slightly. Mr. Flinch essentially sandblasted a hole straight through it.'

Gorthax has since revamped Flinch's entire business operation, introducing what he calls a 'results-oriented eternal framework' that includes aggressive email marketing, a subscription box service, and a mandatory team meeting every Tuesday that Flinch describes as 'intense but fair, though direct eye contact is strongly discouraged.'

The demon has also launched his own LinkedIn profile, which already has 47,000 followers and a featured section showcasing his work with Flinch under the headline: 'How I Scaled a Six-Figure Business Using Principles Older Than Human Civilization (Thread).'

Flinch admitted there have been some challenges, primarily that Gorthax insists on being listed as a co-founder and has twice tried to trademark the word 'synergy' in multiple dimensions simultaneously.

'There are compromises,' Flinch acknowledged. 'He keeps the temperature in the office at what I can only describe as 'hellish,' and he fired my entire customer service team and replaced them with enchanted mirrors that show clients their deepest regrets. But our Trustpilot score has never been higher, so.'

At press time, Gorthax had just closed a Series A funding round of $4 million from a venture capital firm in San Francisco, whose partners reportedly did not notice anything unusual about him because he seemed, quote, 'totally normal for a founder.'
