PUBLIC SAFETY ALERT: Interagency Long-Term Occupancy Continuity Task Force Issues Urgent Advisory That A Residence Continuously Inhabited Since 1986 Has Been Continuously Inhabited Since 1986, Temporal Real Estate Analysts Warn The Years 'Did Not Pause, Cannot Be Refunded, And Add Up To Approximately 38'

LOS ANGELES — The Federal Bureau of Residential Temporal Continuity has issued an urgent public safety advisory following the scientific confirmation that a woman who entered a Los Angeles property approximately 38 years ago has, in the intervening 38 years, continued to be present inside it.

The Bureau, which monitors long-term occupancy patterns for signs of spatial anomaly, said the data was 'unambiguous, year-over-year, and frankly what happens when time moves forward without anyone intervening.'

'We want to be transparent with the public,' said Bureau Director Constance Halloway at a press briefing held inside a building she had occupied for the duration of the briefing. 'Our instruments confirm that each year the subject was in the property, she was, in fact, in the property during that year. This pattern repeated annually for what our analysts now describe as a significant number of consecutive years.'

The advisory was prompted by a formal legal action filed by the property's owner, who researchers note has been aware of the woman's presence for a period described as 'roughly the entire time,' raising what Bureau sociologists are calling a 'notification paradox of remarkable vintage.'

A supplemental report from the National Rent Nonpayment Accumulation Council confirmed that no rent had been collected from the property for the full 38-year period, adding that the absence of rent payments had, each month, resulted in rent not being paid. 'We charted it,' said the Council's lead analyst. 'The graph goes sideways for a very long time. It is one of our more horizontal findings.'

The Bureau's Residential Inertia Division has classified the event as a Category 3 Domicile Persistence Situation, warning the public that individuals who remain in a home without leaving 'may continue to be there unless a countervailing legal, physical, or interpersonal force is applied.' Officials note no such force was applied for approximately four decades.

Civil engineers consulted by the Bureau confirmed the structure itself remained 'stationary, load-bearing, and indifferent to the interpersonal circumstances of its occupants,' adding that buildings do not typically intervene in human relationship disputes, a finding described as 'consistent with our understanding of buildings.'

A court date has been scheduled. Temporal continuity analysts expect time to continue passing until it occurs.

The Bureau urges the public to remain calm, to be aware of who is in their properties, and to 'address situations like this somewhat earlier than the 38-year mark, as a general guideline.' A follow-up advisory will be issued if the woman is found to still be in the building at the time of the follow-up advisory.
