Public Safety Alert: New Federally Chartered Bank May Begin Holding Money, Citizens Advised To Check Whether They Have Any

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In what monetary researchers are cautiously describing as 'a replicable result with significant implications for the field of having money,' the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency announced Tuesday that it has granted preliminary national bank charter approval to World Liberty Financial, the crypto venture affiliated with the family of former President Donald Trump, authorizing the entity to manage a digital asset known as USD1, which preliminary laboratory analysis suggests is worth approximately one dollar.

The OCC stressed that its findings are preliminary, peer review is ongoing, and that members of the public should not attempt to replicate the one-dollar valuation at home without proper supervision.

'At this stage, our models strongly indicate that USD1 is pegged to the U.S. dollar,' said a spokesperson for the agency, reading from a forty-three-page technical brief. 'We are not yet prepared to characterize the mechanism by which one dollar remains one dollar over time, but we consider the early data promising and intend to publish.'

The approval authorizes World Liberty Financial to establish a national trust bank capable of issuing, holding, and theoretically redeeming the USD1 stablecoin — activities that regulators note are consistent with being a bank, a designation the OCC confirmed is still operational as of press time.

Citizens are advised to remain calm.

'This is not an emergency,' the OCC bulletin clarified, 'however, residents in proximity to a national trust bank should be aware that financial products may be in circulation nearby. If you encounter a stablecoin, do not attempt to destabilize it. Note its approximate value. Proceed to the nearest exit in an orderly fashion.'

Monetary scientists from three leading universities confirmed that the stablecoin's core design principle — that one dollar should equal one dollar — represents a 'bold but defensible hypothesis,' adding that historical trials have produced mixed results across the broader stablecoin category and that variance in the one-dollar-equals-one-dollar model should never be fully discounted.

'We've seen what happens when a coin that is supposed to be worth a dollar is briefly worth considerably less than a dollar,' noted Dr. Patricia Vourne of the Institute for Currency That Stays Where You Put It. 'It's the kind of systemic disruption that our public safety models describe as, quote, a Tuesday.'

The Trump family's involvement was described by financial observers as 'notable,' by critics as 'concerning,' and by World Liberty Financial's official communications team as 'an exciting convergence of visionary leadership and the number one.'

The OCC reminded the public that a national bank charter does not guarantee that any money deposited will remain one dollar in perpetuity, though it expressed measured optimism on this point.

At press time, USD1 was still worth one dollar. Researchers asked for quiet while they monitored the situation.
