A24's New Texas Chainsaw Massacre Reboot Will Feature Locally-Sourced, Organic Chainsaws and Gluten-Free Victims

LOS ANGELES — In a move that has horror fans simultaneously intrigued and deeply confused, A24 announced that their upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massacre reboot will feature sustainably harvested chainsaws, free-range victims, and what director Curry Barker calls 'the most emotionally complex mass murderer in cinema history.'

Barker, whose previous work includes the critically acclaimed 'Hereditary 2: More Hereditary' and 'The Witch But Make It Fashion,' promises to bring A24's signature blend of high art and incomprehensible symbolism to the beloved franchise about a man with a chainsaw who uses it inappropriately.

'This isn't your grandfather's chainsaw massacre,' Barker explained while sipping oat milk from a mason jar. 'Our Leatherface will be exploring themes of toxic masculinity, climate anxiety, and the crushing weight of late-stage capitalism. Also, he'll be played by Timothée Chalamet.'

The film will reportedly feature 90 minutes of atmospheric shots of Texas wildflowers swaying in the breeze, followed by exactly 7 minutes of actual chainsaw-related violence, all filmed in a 4:3 aspect ratio to 'honor the claustrophobic nature of modern existence.'

Early script leaks suggest that victims will now engage in lengthy philosophical discussions about their impending doom, with one character reportedly delivering a 12-minute soliloquy about artisanal bread before meeting their demise.

'We're really excited to bring intellectual depth to people getting murdered by power tools,' said A24 co-founder Daniel Katz. 'Expect lots of symmetrical shots, ambient lighting, and at least three scenes where characters stare pensively into the middle distance while indie folk music plays.'
