Atlanta Falcons Draft Avieon Terrell Just to Complete Brother's Pokemon Card Collection

ATLANTA — In a groundbreaking move that has NFL analysts scratching their heads, the Atlanta Falcons used their second-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft to select cornerback Avieon Terrell, reportedly because his brother A.J. Terrell had been begging the front office to "catch 'em all" for the past three years.

"A.J. has been absolutely insufferable about this," said Falcons GM Terry Fontenot, visibly exhausted. "Every team meeting, every practice, every time I see him in the hallway, it's 'When are we getting Avieon? I need my brother! We're stronger together!' It's like dealing with a Pokemon trainer who's missing Pikachu."

The elder Terrell brother confirmed he had been using a sophisticated guilt campaign involving daily PowerPoint presentations titled "Why Avieon Makes Me Evolve Into My Final Form" and leaving handwritten notes in Fontenot's locker that simply read "gotta catch 'em all" in crayon.

"Look, I've got the shiny A.J. card, but without the Avieon card, my collection is basically worthless," explained A.J. Terrell, clutching a laminated photo of himself and his brother at a middle school dance. "Plus, if we combine our powers, we become like Voltron, but for intercepting footballs."

The Falcons secondary will now feature what teammates are calling the "Terrell Twins," despite the brothers being three years apart and looking nothing alike. Head coach Arthur Smith has already ordered matching jerseys with their names hyphenated as "A.J.-Avieon" to avoid confusion.

At press time, the Terrell brothers were seen practicing synchronized celebration dances and demanding the team cafeteria serve only meals that can be split perfectly in half.
