Local Man Spends 47 Hours Researching Where to Watch Soccer Match That Lasts 90 Minutes

GUAYAQUIL, ECUADOR - Local soccer enthusiast Carlos Mendoza, 34, has officially spent more time researching how to watch tomorrow's Copa Libertadores match between Botafogo and Barcelona SC than the combined duration of both legs of the tournament phase, sources close to his browser history confirmed Tuesday.

Mendoza, who began his quest Sunday morning with a simple Google search, has since consulted 847 websites, downloaded 23 different streaming apps, called his cable provider 14 times, and created accounts on platforms in six different countries he cannot locate on a map.

"I just want to watch 90 minutes of football," said an exhausted Mendoza while simultaneously refreshing his 31st browser tab and arguing with a customer service representative in Portuguese. "But somehow I've become an expert in international broadcasting rights, VPN technology, and the complete organizational structure of CONMEBOL."

The match, scheduled for 7:30 PM at Nilton Santos Stadium, could theoretically be watched by simply going to a sports bar, according to Mendoza's wife Maria, whose suggestion was immediately dismissed as "too obvious" and "not involving nearly enough subscription fees."

At press time, Mendoza had successfully located a working stream just as the final whistle blew, prompting him to begin researching how to watch the highlights.
