Sean Penn Wins Oscar But Too Busy Fighting Personal War Against Neighbor's Leaf Blower to Attend Ceremony

MALIBU, CA — Actor Sean Penn was awarded the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor Sunday night for his role in 'One Battle After Another,' but was notably absent from the ceremony as he remained entrenched in his ongoing war against his neighbor Bob Henderson's leaf blower usage.

Penn, who has been conducting a one-man resistance movement from his fortified gazebo since 2019, issued a statement through his publicist explaining his absence: "I cannot in good conscience attend a Hollywood celebration when there are leaves being blown just 50 yards from my meditation garden every Tuesday and Friday at 8 AM sharp."

The actor has reportedly constructed an elaborate network of surveillance cameras pointed at Henderson's tool shed and maintains detailed logs of leaf-blowing incidents, which he submits monthly to the Malibu city council.

"Sean takes this very seriously," said neighbor Janet Morrison. "He's installed those Vietnam War-era speakers in his yard and plays Wagner at full volume whenever Bob starts up that Craftsman 25cc. It's like living in a really pretentious action movie."

Henderson, a retired orthodontist, remains defiant. "My leaves don't blow themselves," he told reporters while defiantly revving his leaf blower. "If Sean Penn thinks he can intimidate me with his Oscar nomination and his tactical binoculars, he's got another thing coming."

Penn's publicist confirmed the actor plans to accept his Oscar via drone delivery to avoid leaving his post during peak leaf-blowing season.
