WrestleMania 42 Delayed After Wrestlers Refuse to Compete Until Someone Explains What Happened to WrestleManias 41-39

STAMFORD, CT — World Wrestling Entertainment announced today that WrestleMania 42 has been indefinitely postponed after the entire roster staged a walkout, demanding answers about the mysterious disappearance of WrestleManias 39, 40, and 41.

"One day it was WrestleMania 38, and suddenly we're being told to prepare for 42," said confused wrestler Jake "The Snake" Rodriguez, who spent three hours staring at a calendar before having an existential crisis. "Did I get concussed so hard I lost four years? Because that would actually explain a lot."

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon attempted to address the controversy during a hastily organized press conference, where he insisted that WrestleManias 39-41 "totally happened" and featured "the best matches you've never seen." When pressed for details, McMahon claimed all footage was "accidentally deleted by our intern" and that all attendees had signed NDAs.

"Look, maybe we got a little excited with our numbering system," admitted WWE Creative Director Sarah Thompson, nervously shuffling through papers. "We thought if we skipped ahead, people would think we were more successful. It's like when restaurants call themselves 'Famous Joe's' even though nobody's heard of them."

The 13 planned matches for WrestleMania 42 include a "Temporal Confusion Ladder Match" and a "Math Skills Battle Royal," though wrestlers are reportedly too confused about basic chronology to properly train.

Meanwhile, Puerto Rican broadcasting stations have announced they will air all four missing WrestleManias simultaneously during the originally scheduled time slot, featuring completely blank screens with dramatic commentary.
